up 079: waterworld [1999]

''this album was banging from start to finish. i really enjoyed the freestyles that they successfuly blended into the album. they add a gritty, home made, old school, underground cypher feel to them. it remindes me of hanging out in a friends basement with an instrumental tape, dual cassette karoke machine, and 2 mics.

this album is chock full of delicious beats, samples, scratches, insightful rhymes, and real talk. they successfuly break down the difference between ''hip hop'' and ''hip pop'' artists, and how they are just every day guys who rap for the love of it. this album is a true to form example of what hip hop really is, and i will recommend this album to anybody who is a new comer to the music genre. it's a shame that this cd is really hard to find, though.'' - evil-lynn
